A Prineville man pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiring to profit off of producing and distributing videos showing monkeys being tortured, mutilated and killed.

David Christopher Noble, 48, pleaded guilty to conspiring to create and distribute the videos prosecutors call “animal crushing” in exchange for money raised by an online animal abuse group he administered, according to a press release from the Oregon U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Noble faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervision.

Noble conspired with people in Oregon and elsewhere to send online payments to co-conspirators overseas to fund the production of the videos, prosecutors said. He also administered an online group in which members would raise money to “produce, discuss ideas for, and share animal abuse videos.”

Investigators searched Noble’s home in February and found about 50 videos depicting animal abuse, prosecutors say. They also found several firearms and ammunition.

Noble lost the right to possess firearms because he was dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 2006 for fraud and having an “unprofessional relationship,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He was court-martialed and ordered to serve 6 months in military custody.

After investigators searched his Prineville home, Noble moved to Henderson, Nevada, prosecutors said.

Noble was indicted on May 18 by a federal grand jury in Eugene, charging him with conspiring to create the “animal crush” videos and illegally possessing a firearm.

Noble was arrested in Henderson on June 13.
