Bynum and Merkley to hold town hall in Sisters April 5

U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Oregon, addresses an audience of 250 people at a town hall meeting at Lone Pine Elementary School in February 2023.

U.S. Rep. Janelle Bynum, D-Ore., and U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., will be holding a joint town hall 1 p.m. April 5 at Sisters High School’s gymnasium.

That same day, Merkley will hold a town hall at 10 a.m. in Jefferson County at Madras High School’s gymnasium. At 4 p.m. April 5, he will hold a town hall in Crook County at Barnes Butte Elementary’s gymnasium.

“I’ve had nearly 600 of these conversations since Oregonians first sent me to the Senate, and each one helps fuel my fight for working families, shape policies and ideas for bills, and keeps me laser-focused on where to target federal resources to meet local needs,” said Merkley in a press release.

The April 5 event will be the third town hall for Bynum in three different counties since she was elected in November. A Democrat, she represents Oregon’s 5th Congressional District.
