A large police presence along Third Street in Bend on Wednesday afternoon was the result of a barricaded subject at the Old Mill Apartments.
Brach Addison Roberts, 32 of Bend, locked himself inside a residence when Bend Police arrived to arrest him on a felony warrant for probation violation related to a previous drug crime. When Roberts did not immediately come out, and believing him to be armed, the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team — a SWAT team — was activated. Officers were then able to negotiate Roberts outside of the apartment and he was transported to Deschutes County Jail.
No one was injured.
Roberts has previous convictions for assault in 2009 and resisting arrest and escape in 2024.
