For several years now, Jenny Don’t and The Spurs have been one of Portland’s bigger and better-known bands. It’s easy to understand why; their upbeat and catchy brand of honky tonk, traditional country and “western garage” music is totally irresistible.

That’s the same reason it’s not surprising to see Don’t and her Spurs continuing to grow into more than just a local or regional band. Thanks to a relentless tour schedule (and that aforementioned irresistible sound), the band has spread its twangy gospel far and wide, so much so that they just spent two months touring around Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. And earlier this year, they toured all over Europe!

Do they love American country music in those places? Of course they do! Or at least they love Jenny Don’t and The Spurs. (Actually, they love both.) Next up: Sisters on Saturday night, where they’re definitely going to turn The Belfry’s dance floor into a seriously good time.
