Here are the candidates for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for Oct. 23-28 as nominated by local coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.

Please read through the nominees and cast your vote for one male athlete and one female athlete at bendbulletin.com/sports.

Voting will conclude at 3 p.m. Friday.

The winners will be announced in Sunday’s sports section and online at bendbulletin.com.

Girls

Sienna McCarl, Caldera soccer: McCarl scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute to give Caldera the 2-1 win over Summit on Oct. 25. It was the Wolfpack’s first ever win over Summit and secured the school’s first-ever Intermountain Conference title.

Lilian Duarte, Mountain View soccer: The sophomore midfielder saved her best game of the season for the Cougars’ final match, a 5-0 win over Ridgeview on Oct. 25. Duarte finished with one goal and one assist in the win.

Eva Dicharry, Summit cross-country: Dicharry was the first to cross the finish line at the Intermountain Conference Championships on Oct. 24, and was the only runner to finish in less than 19 minutes with a time of 18:54.40.

Evonna West, Ridgeview cross-country: After just missing out on qualifying for the state cross-country meet last season, West qualified in her senior season with a second-place finish at the IMC Conference Championships on Oct. 24 with a time of 19:05.40.

Boys

Sam Stephens, Summit football: The senior running back ran for 110 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries, while also catching three passes for 43 yards in the Storm’s 21-7 win over Caldera on Oct. 27.

Braden Bailey, Summit football: The senior defensive end lived in the backfield during Summit’s 21-7 win over Caldera on Oct. 27. Bailey had four sacks, four tackles for loss and 7.5 total tackles in the win.

Jack Foley, Mountain View football: The junior wideout caught seven passes for 137 yards and four touchdowns to help the Cougars cap off an undefeated regular season with a 46-7 win over Bend High on Oct. 27.

Noah Laughlin-Hall, Summit cross-country: Laughlin-Hall won his second consecutive district title at the IMC Conference Championships on Oct. 24. The senior finished 13 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher with a time of 15:25.00.
