The Bend Surgery Center, Bend Transitional Care and Summit Health have teamed up to expand short-term surgical recovery bed capacity in Central Oregon, according to company statements.
The move benefits patients who require overnight stays following surgery, according to the announcement by the three health care companies. The move follows months of discussions where the Bend Transitional Care will provide short term recovery beds for those receiving surgery at the Bend Surgery Center and Summit Health will provide skilled nursing for these post surgery patients.
The Surgery Center has expanded and remodeled its space to now include 14 operating and procedure rooms, enabling it to double the number of patients it can see, according to the company statements.
The Bend Transitional Care facility offers skilled nursing, rehabilitation and respite care to patients, according to the company statement. And Summit Health is a physician-led clinic with about 160 providers.
