- Soulful folk, pop and rock songwriter David Ramirez of Austin, Texas, plays Friday at the warm and intimate Belfry in Sisters.
The Belfry in Sisters is a wonderfully warm and intimate place to see a great songwriter at work, and David Ramirez is certainly that.
Based out of Austin, Texas, Ramirez has made five albums of soulful folk, pop and rock anchored by his compelling voice and honest songs. Never has that been more true than on his newest album, “My Love is a Hurricane,” which was originally meant to be a collection of love songs dedicated to his life-partner, but before it was complete, their relationship abruptly ended.

Sonically, Ramirez’s music lives in the same neighborhood as Central Oregon faves such as Gregory Alan Isakov, Noah Gundersen and The National. His show Friday night at The Belfry should be quite a treat.
David Ramirez, with Travis Ehrenstrom and Grace Caston: $25, 7 p.m. Friday, The Belfry, 302 E. Main Ave., Sisters, bendticket.com.
