The governor’s office is seeking applicants to be the next Crook County district attorney.
Gov. Kate Brown announced last week that Wade Whiting would be appointed as the next circuit court judge for Crook and Jefferson counties, creating a vacancy at the position of Crook County district attorney.
Whiting was appointed district attorney in 2017.
Forms must be received by the governor’s office by 5 p.m. Dec. 23.
“The Governor’s Office welcomes applications from candidates with a diversity of backgrounds and experiences,” reads a statement from Brown’s office released Tuesday.
Applicants must submit a District Attorney Interest Form to the governor’s office, available online.
Oregon law requires that the appointee be admitted to practice law at the Oregon Supreme Court.
