Kid Stuff

While many concerts and brewpubs in Central Oregon are kid-friendly, sometimes kids want to do, well, kid stuff. Of course there are always city parks and nature trails to explore, but here are our top picks for fun things to do in Bend, rain or shine!

• For the athletic climber, check out the Bend Rock Gym, an indoor climbing facility that provides a world-class climbing experience for most ages (call first for under-fives) and all skill levels. bendrockgym.com

• Sun Mountain Fun Center, on the north side of town, offers a video arcade, bowling, go-karts, batting cages, mini golf, and even indoor bumper cars! sunmountainfun.com

• Got some high-energy ninjas on your hands? Take them to Bend’s newest trampoline park, Trampoline Zone. More than 50 trampoline beds, a ninja obstacle course, interactive climbing walls, and a laser maze will wear your kids out for sure. Book ahead to ensure availability. tzbend.com

• Cascade Indoor Sports, off Empire Boulevard, offers 50,000 square feet of fun, sports, and family activities, including a roller skating rink, a giant indoor play structure, and sports such as soccer, hockey, flag football, and, for the adults, volleyball and pickleball. cascadeindoorsports.com

• Mountain Air, across Highway 97 from Sun Mountain Fun Center, is an indoor trampoline park featuring a main court with 26 connected trampolines, plus basketball lanes, extreme dodgeball, a giant airbag to practice those stunt jumps, a separate toddler zone, and cosmic jumping on Saturday nights. mountainairbend.com

• Parents, if you’re still a kid at heart, you’ll have just as much fun as your children at Vector Volcano, a classic arcade with the best video and pinball games of the 1980s and ’90s, located in downtown Bend. And if you’re all grown up, enjoy a local craft beer while you hang. vectorvolcanoarcade.com

• Pick an activity at The Pavilion on Bend’s west side. The Bend Parks and Recreation District’s Pavilion offers an array of activities for all ages, including a rock climbing wall, scootering, basketball, and more. Kids can join in during open play time and The Pavilion is open just for kids on Friday nights. thepavilioninbend.com
