Applebee’s in Bend is closed, shortly after the property on U.S. Highway 97 was advertised for lease.
Wednesday was the restaurant’s last day in business, an employee said. The Applebee’s in Redmond, 3807 SW 21st St., is open and will accept any gift cards and coupons, according to the employee. Some employees of the Bend Applebee’s might work in Redmond, he said.
The local Applebee’s restaurants are operated by a franchisee, J&A Food Service Inc. of Redding, California.
The Bend Applebee’s is part of the Bend River Village shopping center at 3197 N. U.S. Highway 97, which is also home to PetCo. The landlord is attempting to redevelop the restaurant portion of the property, potentially with multiple new tenants. No changes are anticipated to the PetCo building.
Applebee’s was on a month-to-month lease and initiated the change, according to Mark Crose, business manager for Weigand Investments, an Oregon company that owns the property.
