After changing venues three times last year, the Bend Song Exchange’s Non-Profit Tunes benefit shows will kick off 2019 strong Wednesday at its latest venue, Spoken Moto. The show, the first in a monthly series of events that benefit different Central Oregon charities, is billed as an invitational, open to all interested area nonprofits (by press time, at least eight groups confirmed they would participate, according to organizer Tom Hudson). At the end of the night, donations collected via tip jar will go to one of these groups via lottery, and each group will bring items to be raffled off (proceeds from each item will benefit whichever group donated the item, Hudson said). As always, the music is homegrown; this edition will feature Jess Ryan and James Hutchens of the Jess Ryan Band, Chris Nowak and Mike Biggers trading music and stories in a “songwriters in the round” setup. The shows will continue at Spoken Moto on the last Thursday of every month.

Non-Profit Tunes invitational with Jess Ryan and James Hutchens, Chris Nowak, Mike Biggers: 7 p.m. Wednesday; free, donations suggested; Spoken Moto, 310 SW Industrial Way, Bend; bendsongexchange@gmail.com, 541-390-0921 or 541-306-6689.
