Gail Dubisar, a volleyball icon in Central Oregon, has been named Oregon volleyball official of the year for 2019-20 by the Oregon Athletic Officials Association.
Dubisar, of Culver, received the award at the OSAA Class 2A and 1A state championships last weekend at Ridgeview High School in Redmond.
It was the second time Dubisar has been honored by the OAOA. She was also named state volleyball official of the year for 2010-11.
Dubisar began officiating in Central Oregon in 1977, stepping away after 10 years to become head volleyball coach at Culver High School. She guided Culver to the Class B state championship in 1987 and continued coaching in various capacities around Central Oregon for the next 17 years. She returned to officiating in 2007 with the Central Oregon Volleyball Officials Association, for which she has served as commissioner.
