- Bend angel investors see return on Jama Software
Bend angel investors who backed Jama Software in 2008 are cashing in since the Portland company landed $200 million in new investment, the largest venture financing deal in the Pacific Northwest of the past five years, according to Economic Development for Central Oregon.
Jama, which helps companies including SpaceX and Caterpillar with product development, was the winner of the 2008 Bend Venture Conference, hosted by EDCO. Jama took home $110,000 from that year’s investor group, BVC 2008 Investor LLC.
The group has voted to accept an offer to exit its investment, EDCO announced Wednesday. Details of the investor group’s exit were not disclosed. One of the BVC 2008 investors, James “Gator” Hudson, stated in a press release: “Our local Bend angels are very pleased with the outcome.”
Jama is the second company that Bend Venture Conference investors have exited. The first was Elemental Software, which won the conference in 2007 and was acquired by Amazon Web Services in 2015.
