Sony Interactive Entertainment will release “Days Gone,” the post-apocalyptic game for PlayStation 4, on Feb. 22, Bend Studio Creative Director John Garvin announced in a blog post Thursday.
The release date was announced as Bend Studio prepares for E3, the computer and video game conference that kicks off Tuesday in Los Angeles. Bend Studio has been working on “Days Gone,” which is set in a high desert landscape, since 2012 and released the first trailer in 2016. At that time the studio’s staff had grown from about 45 people to 103. The studio has since moved into brand-new office space and occupies two floors of Crane Shed Commons on Industrial Way.
A Sony spokeswoman did not respond to a message from The Bulletin.
In his latest update on the game, Garvin, a native Oregonian, writes about two new animal threats that players will encounter: mountain lions and infected ravens, which will be called “criers.”
