• The Central Oregon Health Council has recently awarded a three-year, $2 million grant to the United Way initiative TRACES (trauma, resilience, and adverse childhood experiences), a communitywide effort involving over 30 local government entities, nonprofits and community members to improve the health and well-being of Central Oregon residents.
• United Way of Deschutes County has been awarded a $10,000 grant from First Interstate Bank in support of its initiative TRACES.
• Anderson Perry & Associates has received the 2018 Engineering Excellence Project of the Year award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Oregon for its Crooked River wetlands project designed for the city of Prineville. The innovative complex utilizes natural processes found in the wetlands to further treat the reclaimed water and was built for $8 million, compared to the initial price of $62 million.
• CA Rowles Engineering is moving to the Pioneer Park Building, 1345 NW Wall St., Suite 200, Bend, on Thursday. The company’s new location is at the southwest corner of Wall Street and Portland Avenue.
• Cascade School of Music has received a $5,000 grant from First Interstate Bank to support its Tuition Assistance Fund, which fully supports community youth who want access to music lessons and instruments regardless of their socio-economic status. The fund is also supported by community sponsorships and individual donations.
• Baldy’s Barbeque, 343 NW Sixth St., Redmond, filed an application Jan. 18 with the Oregon Liquor Control Commission as a new outlet for a commercial establishment, full on-premises sales license, which allows the sale and service of distilled spirits, malt beverages, wine and cider for consumption on the licensed premises.
• Mod Pizza, 20516 Robal Lane, Bend, filed an application Jan. 18 with the OLCC as a new outlet for a limited on-premises sale license, which allows the sale of malt beverages, wine and cider for consumption on the licensed premises and the sale of kegs of malt beverages for off-premises consumption.
• North Rim Brewing, 20650 High Desert Lane, No. 7, Bend, filed an application Jan. 18 with the OLCC under a change of ownership for a brewery-public house license, which allows the manufacture and sale of malt beverages to wholesalers, and the sale of malt beverages, wine and cider for consumption on or off the premises.
