Affordable housing in Sisters
People searching for affordable housing in Sisters can apply next week for an apartment at Ponderosa Heights, a six-building complex nearing completion behind Ray’s Food Place.
Housing Works and Epic Property Management LLC announced Tuesday they will take applications Oct. 22-25. Applications must be hand-delivered between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to the office of Tamarack Village, 555 N. Larch St. in Sisters, according to a press release from Housing Works. A wait list of future tenants will be generated through a lottery.
Ponderosa Heights will be restricted to renters earning less than 60 percent of the area median income, which is $41,760 for a four-person household, according to Housing Works. Rents will be $620 a month for one-bedroom apartments and $730 a month for two-bedroom apartments.
The 48-unit development is at 601 N. Brooks Camp Road. Housing Works expects 40 units to be available in December with the remaining eight units to be leased in January, project specialist Julie Benson said. A nonprofit, Housing Works is the largest affordable housing provider in Central Oregon.
