Who: Barbara Slater’s exhibit “Floral, Feathers and Fur” is on display at Franklin Crossing through Sunday. Slater has painted for more than 40 years, starting in grade school and continuing as a freelance painter throughout her career as a teacher and counselor. Her current exhibition highlights her vibrant acrylic and oil paintings of animals and flowers. The Bend artist has been recognized across the Western U.S. and has been featured in the magazine “Ranch and Country.”
