Bend’s Heather Jackson wins third straight Chattanooga 70.3, Linsey Corbin third

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Heather Jackson won her third straight Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga and fellow Bend triathlete Linsey Corbin finished third in Tennessee on Sunday.
After completing the 1.2-mile swim, Jackson and second-place finisher Meredith Kessler, 39 and of San Francisco, took turns pacing during the 56-mile bike leg. Jackson finally passed Kessler about 10 miles into the 13.1-mile run leg. Jackson’s winning time was 4 hours, 11 minutes, 8 seconds, beating Kessler by 1 minute and 12 seconds. Kessler has won 26 Ironman and Half Ironman races and returned to competition last month after giving birth to a son in 2017. Corbin, 37, finished the Half Ironman race in 4:16:43.
