Starting Jan. 1, the maximum daily parking rate at Redmond Airport will increase from $10 to $15.

The current $1 fee for the first 30 minutes, and the $2 hourly rate after that, remain unchanged. Also, parking fees on the seventh consecutive day will no longer be waived or discounted, according to the airport.

The increased parking rate is in response to record passenger growth. The 1,150-space parking lot has reached capacity several times as the daily passenger count has risen from 1,400 in 2013 to an estimated 2,500 in 2018, according to the airport.

The funds collected from the rate increase will go toward various capital improvements at the airport, including plans to add 300 additional spaces in the parking lot.

The new fee will go into effect after midnight Jan. 1.

Redmond Airport officials note the increased rate is comparable to similar sized airports. Eugene’s airport charges $14 a day and Medford’s airport charges $15 a day.
