BLACK BUTTE RANCH — Bend’s Amy Anderson and Oregon City’s Kailin Downs, a graduate of Bend’s Mountain View High, birdied three straight holes Tuesday to rally from two holes down en route to the women’s division title at the Oregon Amateur Four-Ball Championship on the Big Meadow course at Black Butte Ranch.

The top-seeded duo in the bracket, Downs and Anderson defeated defending champions Amanda Jacobs and Gretchen Johnson, both of Portland, 1-up to claim the title. Downs and Anderson trailed by two holes after the seventh but birdied the ninth, 10th and 11th holes to gain a one-hole lead. A birdie on the 14th put the duo up two as they held on for the win.

In the open division, Portland’s Trevor Harding and Brent McKee captured their second straight championship by putting away Bend’s Clare Langford and Ryan DeCastilhos 3 and 2. The Bend tandem grabbed an early 1-up lead with a birdie on the par-5 third hole. Harding and McKee, however, made the turn with a two-hole advantage after making birdies at the fifth, seventh and ninth holes. The defending champs then birdied the 12th and cruised to the championship.

Langford and DeCastilhos reached the final with a dramatic 21-hole semifinal victory over Albany’s Chace Daskalos and Andrew Raab. Down one hole heading to the par-4 18th, Langford and DeCastilhos made par, but the Albany duo bogeyed to force extra holes. On the 21st hole, Langford and DeCastilhos birdied to advance to the championship.

Oregon City’s Jack Schneider and Tigard’s Byron Patton won the senior division title 5 and 4 over Portland’s Scott Hval and Randy Mahar.
