• Suterra LLC has graduated from the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program. SHARP provides an incentive for Oregon employers to work with their employees to find and correct hazards, develop and implement effective safety and health program. About 23 employer locations in Oregon participate in SHARP.
• Kemple Memorial Children’s Dental Clinic has received more than $133,000 in grants from state organizations and local businesses to provide critical preventive dental services for families that cannot access basic care, including $50,000 from Central Oregon Health Council, $50,000 from Oregon Community Foundation, $13,000 from St. Charles Foundation, $5,000 from Les Schwab Tire Centers, $3,500 from Willamette Dental Group, $1,500 from Greater Rotary of Bend, $1,500 from Central Oregon Association of Realtors, $1,000 from Mt. Bachelor Rotary and $500 from OnPoint Community Credit Union.
• Economic Development for Central Oregon and Boys & Girls Club of Bend raised more than $190,000 at their third annual Civil War Rally and Auction to support the economic development of Central Oregon families. The event, held at The Riverhouse on the Deschutes, was attended by 450 business leaders and community members.
• Northern Energy has pledged $5,000 toward helping Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook County veterans transition back into everyday life following their time in the armed forces. The donation will fund programs and events for the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch.
