‘Cirque d’ Art’ — The closure of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus in May of this year has inspired “Cirque d’ Art,” a memory-rich exploration of the big tent world featuring the prints and mixed-media works of Central Oregon artist Dawn Emerson. The exhibit opens with a free reception during the October First Friday Gallery Walk, 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Bend Art Center, 550 SW Industrial Way, No. 180. At the opening, acrobat Kendall Knowles of Central Oregon Aerial Arts will perform outside the center, while Emerson will give an art talk on the exhibit at 6 p.m. Oct. 13, as well as lead a circus-inspired mixed-media monotype workshop Nov. 4 and 5.
