Details: Selco Community Credit Union is building a 2,500-square-foot bank branch.
The site most recently of Inner Rage CrossFit, that building was demolished in May to make way for the new bank. The branch will be the third in Bend for the Eugene-based credit union, which also has two branches in Redmond.
The SW Century branch will have rock masonry and wooden beams incorporated to give the building the look and feel of a Northwest mountain lodge. Inside, a wall with nine, 55-inch television screens will provide information about Bend events and Selco promotions, said Colleen Thompson, Selco marketing manager.
The city of Bend in May issued a building permit for the project that listed an estimated value of $1.5 million.
“We’ll be staffing our new west Bend branch with a team of five, including four member service specialists and one manager. We’ll also have video conference ties into our larger Old Mill financial center (and other locations), so members at the west Bend branch can ‘meet’ with local specialists about mortgages, investments, and insurance,” Thompson wrote in an email Friday.
She said the branch is scheduled for a “soft opening” in late November.
Selco is fusing “concierge-style” customer service in a brick-and-mortar branch to accommodate the changing banking habits of its clientele, Selco’s Central Oregon area manager, Mike Stanley, said in April.
McKenzie Commercial, the Eugene-based general contractor, is using as many local subcontractors as possible, Thompson said.
