BendBroadband upgrades left some disconnected

Subscribers to BendBroadband internet service with accessibility problems following a system upgrade should contact customer service, a company spokeswoman said Monday.
Cheryl McCollum, public relations manager for BendBroadband and its parent company TDS Telecom, said planned outages to allow network upgrades and software improvements to subscriber modems took place between midnight and 6 a.m. June 13 through 15.
“If anyone still has their internet out, they really should call our repair department” at 541-382-5551, she said Monday.
McCollum said sporadic outages occurred after the upgrades, but most had been addressed and service to those customers restored. She said about 15 subscribers called the center Monday morning.
The phone, cable and internet service provider performed some upgrades in preparation for a wider system upgrade scheduled later in the summer, she said. Network improvements can leave some customers temporarily disconnected but are “well worth it down the road” in terms of overall improved service, McCollum said.
