Sip local brew
in Virginia, too

Deschutes Brewery has unveiled plans to create a tasting room in downtown Roanoke, Virginia, ahead of its construction there of a production brewery.

The tasting room is tentatively slated for a late August opening, according to a news release from the Bend-based brewery.

The brewery plans to break ground on its new production facility, expected to cost at least $85 million, in 2019. The tasting room in the meantime will provide the brewery a presence in Roanoke, said Nate Brocious, Deschutes Brewery tours and tasting room manager, in the release.

Plans call for the tasting room, to be located at 315 Market St. SE, to have more than 15 taps of Deschutes Brewery beers. Patrons will be able to obtain a pint, fill growlers or purchase brewery-branded merchandise.
