Modest Mouse formed in 1993 in the Seattle suburb of Issaquah, Washington, and rose to national popularity in the mid-2000s on the strength of singles such as “Float On” and “Ocean Breathes Salty.” The band released its sixth studio album and first in eight years, “Strangers to Ourselves,” in 2015.
