First Friday Gallery Walk returns to the Old Mill District and downtown Bend, with galleries, cafes and other art-friendly businesses open from about 5 to 9 p.m. Friday with receptions for openings, live music, appetizers and some of the best people-watching this side of hiding in a tree with a pair of binoculars. There’s more happening than we can squeeze in a single brief, but here are some highlights about what will be going up this month:

At Bellatazza, 869 NW Wall St., artist Parker Doelling will be on hand to display his intricate drawings of weddings, babies, families and more.

Literally right next door, Mockingbird Gallery will host a reception for “Fresh Perspectives,” a two-person show of works by Sandra Pratt and Wendy Chidester, served up with wine, cheese and the music of Rich Hurdle and Friends.

Franklin Crossing, 550 NW Franklin Ave., will host an opening from 5 to 8 p.m. for Bend artist Randall Martin’s abstract paintings in the exhibit “Primeval Line.”
