The Lot
Not only does The Lot have heated benches and a wide selection of beers on tap, but the area is surrounded five food trucks. Each food truck parked at The Lot serves a different kind of cuisine. Real Food Street Bistro makes new American food; Thailandia Asian Food Cart serves authentic Thai food; A la Carte specializes in french fry combinations, salads and tacos; Bend Burgz N Dogz makes hamburgers, hotdogs and creamy milkshakes; and the Bangarang Haute Cuisine menu changes seasonally offering different locally-sourced gourmet dishes. The only problem with The Lot is that there are too many options to choose from — do I order the Gorgonzola bacon fries or the risotto?
In addition to the well-loved food, the atmosphere is inviting. It’s combination of indoor/outdoor seating is a welcomed change of pace and they still manage to keep their customers warm in the winter time.
The Bite in Tumalo
Up and coming food truck pod, The Bite in Tumalo took second place. The Rogue Chef, Rico’s Tacos and Nuthin’ Fancy BBQ are parked at The Bite. If you’re on your way to Sisters this is a great stop for lunch or dinner. The Bite is open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
A tie for 3rd
Two food trucks tied for the No. 3 spot: A Broken Angel, vegan street food, and Scoutpost, a clay oven food cart serving a wide variety of treats, including pulled chicken and doughnut holes. Both food trucks are gaining popularity and well worth a visit.
