Oregon State Police report a two-car crash west of Prineville resulted in the death of one of the drivers involved.

At about 5:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, OSP troopers and emergency personnel responded to the crash at the intersection of highways 126 and 370. Stephen Poole, 24 and of Prineville, was driving a 1997 Plymouth Neon and turning eastbound onto Hwy. 126 when his car was struck by a 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander heading westbound on Hwy. 126. The driver of the Mitsubishi, Jessica R. Bean, 23, of Prineville, refused medical attention. Poole died on the scene.

Traffic was held to two lanes on Hwy. 126 for two-and-a-half hours during the investigation.
