Equine Outreach has assembled a new board of directors to replace the board that resigned as a group in early October.

Members of the nonprofit’s board quit the organization over differences with the group’s founders, Joan Steelhammer and Gary Everett, concerning how the horse rescue ought to be managed.

In a news release, Equine Outreach announced that Bill Inman has been selected as the new president of the board. Inman is joined by vice president Mary Shrauger, secretary-treasurer Treana Henley, and directors Nancy Baldrick and Debbie Kendrick.

Equine Outreach is currently housing and caring for more than 60 abandoned or neglected horses at a ranch east of Bend.
