Bend police arrest man in armed robbery

Bend police arrested a 20-year-old Bend man in the armed robbery of a Dutch Bros. Coffee store in July.
After an investigation that included the execution of a search warrant, police arrested Tyler Jacob Speas on Sept. 3 on suspicion of second-degree robbery, menacing, unlawful use of a weapon and second-degree theft, according to a news release issued Monday. He was being held Monday in the Deschutes County jail.
On July 23, a man approached the Dutch Bros. at SE Third Street and SE Wilson Avenue in Bend shortly after 11 p.m., pointed a gun at the employee and demanded money. Police did not disclose the amount stolen.
Officers searched the area with a police dog after the robbery but failed to find the gunman.
