In the interest of fostering a lifelong habit of museum-going, the High Desert Museum has joined a program to offer reduced admissions to low-income families.

Those who show an electronic benefits transfer card and a valid ID will receive a reduced admission rate of $2 per person. The special price is good for as many as six people (two adults and four children).

The discount shaves off $13 per adult and $7 per youth on admission prices. The price plunge is the result of the High Desert Museum joining Museums for All, a program founded by the Association of Children’s Museums and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

“ … Museums for All … represents a great stride toward the goal of reaching more children and parents, especially those in low‐income brackets, with the valuable learning resources of the museum,” the museum’s program director said in a press release.
