Three new outdoor product companies will be going through Bend Outdoor Worx this fall, the organization announced Wednesday.

The upcoming session of Bend Outdoor Worx will be the fourth for the industry accelerator. The three companies selected are: Bosky Optics, a Portland company that makes sunglasses and goggles from recycled products; Zealios, a Bend company that makes sunscreen and other personal care products aimed at triathletes; and Fat Chance Bicycles, an Ashland mountain bike company.

Gary Bracelin, Bend Outdoor Worx co-founder, said the program, which is designed to help Oregon outdoor-product companies grow, will have the companies meeting with mentors from the industry on a weekly basis for four months, followed by additional monthly meetings.

Bracelin added that Bosky Optics and Fat Chance Bicycles will be the second and third companies to go through the program from outside Central Oregon, and the only companies to do so since 2014.

Additionally, Bracelin said Venture Out Festival, an outdoor-industry-specific venture festival in October co-sponsored by Bend Outdoor Worx, will be accepting applications through Monday.
