Fin & Fire in Redmond will host a fly-fishing “Gear and Beer Ladies Night” 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 18 from

Both Simms and Patagonia representatives will be at the event to discuss women’s fly-fishing gear and Wild Ride Brewery will be serving beer.

The class will include knots, entomology, fishing techniques, etiquette, casting and more.

Heather Hodson, who founded Spokane Women on the Fly, will also be on hand to discuss women’s fly-fishing gear. Hodson is scheduled to teach a Women’s Fly Fishing 101 class from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 20 at Fin & Fire. Registration is $40, and ladies can register by calling Fin & Fire at 541-548-1503.

Hodson was appointed the Trout Unlimited Washington Women’s Initiative Council Chair in January 2016 and recently accepted the position of the TU Women’s Initiative Western United States Ambassador.
