Here is the ODFW fishing report for the Central Zone from Dec. 30:

BEND PINE NURSERY: Open to fishing all year. Limit two fish per day.

CRANE PRAIRIE RESERVOIR: Closed to fishing until April 22.

Most Popular

CRESCENT LAKE: Open to fishing all year.

CROOKED RIVER BELOW BOWMAN DAM: Fishing has been fair. The flows are very low, which can be very stressful to the fish. Anglers are encouraged to take measures to reduce stress by quickly landing a fish, minimize handling and to not remove the fish from the water. As a reminder, all trout over 20 inches are considered steelhead and must be immediately released unharmed.

CULTUS LAKE: Open to fishing all year.

DAVIS LAKE: Open to fishing all year. Restricted to fly-fishing only with barbless hooks. New fishing regulations include catch-and-release for trout.

ELK LAKE: Open to fishing all year.

FALL RIVER: Under new fishing regulations for 2016, the river below the falls is open all year. Restricted to fly-fishing only with barbless hooks. Forest Service Road 4060 is not maintained during winter months. Anglers report fair fishing during the warmest part of the day.

HOOD RIVER: Fishing for bright winter steelhead has been improving, with quite a few new fish entering the river. Fishing should be good if flows from recent rains recede to fishable flows.

LAKE BILLY CHINOOK: Fishing for kokanee has been excellent. Anglers are reminded there are small numbers of spring chinook and summer steelhead in Lake Billy Chinook as part of the reintroduction effort. Please release these fish unharmed.

METOLIUS RIVER: Mainstem upstream of Allingham Bridge is closed to fishing. Allingham Bridge downstream to mouth is open to fishing all year. Catch-and-release for all species, including bull trout. Special fishing regulations apply to the Metolius River.

NORTH TWIN LAKE: North Twin Lake will be closed until ODFW can access the lake to assess recent treatment to remove illegally introduced catfish. Contact Erik Moberly at 541-388-6145 if you have any questions.

OCHOCO CREEK UPSTREAM TO OCHOCO DAM: Angling is restricted to artificial flies and lures only; two trout per day with an 8-inch minimum length.

OCHOCO RESERVOIR: Winter is usually a good time to find the larger trout.

ODELL LAKE: Under new 2016 fishing regulations, the lake is open year-round. All tributaries to Odell Lake are closed to fishing.

PINE HOLLOW RESERVOIR: Pine Hollow should offer excellent winter fishing, as the lake has received its winter stocking.

PRINEVILLE RESERVOIR: The water level is low. The water around the resort may be frozen. The best access will be near the dam.

ROCK CREEK RESERVOIR: Recent rains should improve water levels and fishing in the lake. The reservoir has received its winter stocking.

SHEVLIN YOUTH FISHING POND: Open to fishing all year. Limit is two trout per day, 8-inch minimum length. Fishing restricted to anglers 17 years old and younger.

SOUTH TWIN LAKE: Under new 2016 fishing regulations, the lake will be open year-round. The lake may be frozen during long stretches of cold weather. Check road conditions prior to driving to lake.

SUTTLE LAKE: Open to fishing all year.

THREE CREEK LAKE: Open to fishing all year. Check road closure information before driving to lake.

WALTON LAKE: The lake is covered in ice of unknown thickness.
