Sunriver Brewing Co. plans a party when it opens its new pub in Bend on Galveston Avenue next month, the company sales and marketing director said Thursday.

The scheduled opening date is Feb. 13 at 1005 NW Galveston Ave. Ryan Duley, marketing director, said he expects the date will hold, provided the weather cooperates and remaining work gets done. The pub seats about 65, with room for another 50 on a rear patio that Sunriver Brewing is installing, he said.

Sunriver Brewing Co. is bringing about five of its employees from its brewpub in Sunriver to work in Bend, along with about 15 former employees of the former Oblivion Brewing Co., which occupied the site until Dec. 31, Duley said.

Sunriver Brewing Co. bought the equipment and lease from former Oblivion pub owner Jon Sargent. Although the pub went out of business, the Oblivion Brewing Co. brewery, a separate business, is still going strong, its owners said.
