Keith Anderson, Zach Hinson play in Bend

The title of country singer-songwriter Keith Anderson’s latest single, the honky-tonkin’, Southern rockin’ “I’ll Bring the Music,” is apt.
It comes from an EP of the same name released last year, his first official release since his 2008 sophomore effort “C’mon.” It’s also his first release as an independent artist, after parting ways with Columbia Nashville in 2009.
While the Miami, Oklahoma, singer and guitarist may not be a household name himself, he knows how to write for ’em. Before his 2005 debut “Three Chord Country and American Rock & Roll,” he helped write “Beer Run (B Double E Double Are You In?),” a duet recorded by Garth Brooks and George Jones in 2001. He also co-wrote Big & Rich’s “Lost in This Moment,” which went to No. 1 on Billboard’s U.S. Hot Country Songs chart in 2007 (a feat he’s yet to repeat with his own solo work).
Anderson went mostly quiet after touring behind “C’mon,” revealing in an interview last year with Billboard’s website that his mother was diagnosed with brain cancer. She passed away soon after the diagnosis, and Anderson took time off to deal with his grief and raise a family.
But if the six-song “I’ll Bring the Music” is any indication, Anderson is ready to start doing just that once again. Nothing groundbreaking or genre-defying here, just big hooks, big twang and Anderson’s likable, not-too-over-the-top drawl.
He’ll bring all that to The Annex on Tuesday. Yakima, Washington, country singer Zach Hinson will inject some Northwest flavor to the bill.
