Sci-fi author Daniel H. Wilson holds book signing at Pegasus in Bend

Pegasus Books will host a book signing with Portland author and robotics engineer Daniel H. Wilson at 2 p.m. today.

Wilson is best known as the author of the 2011 techno thriller novel “Robopocalypse” and its 2014 sequel “Robogenesis,” as well as humorous how-to books “How to Survive a Robot Uprising,” “Where’s My Jetpack?” and “How to Build a Robot Army.” He also writes graphic novels and comics for DC Comics, including the “Earth 2: Society” seven-issue series in 2015. “Robopocalypse” has been optioned for a movie with Steven Spielberg attached to direct.

In addition to his writing, Wilson has a Ph. D. in robotics from Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The event is free and open to all ages. Pegasus will have several of Wilson’s books for sale, including “Robogenesis” and “Earth 2: Society No. 1,” among others, according to the Facebook event page. People should make a purchase before entering the signing line, but anyone will be allowed to bring additional copies of Wilson’s work they may already own for a maximum of three signed items per person, according to the event page.
