Robert Wilbur Chandler — “Bob” or “Bobby” — died suddenly after suffering a massive heart attack February 24, 2016 at the age of 53 in Sisters, Oregon.

He was born in Bend, Oregon on April 8, 1962 to Robert W. Chandler, Sr. and Nancy (Renne) Chandler, who preceded him in death.

Bob loved community, music, cooking, food, traveling, flying and sports. But his biggest joy was being a loving father and husband. He was also dedicated to his pets.

He graduated from Mountain View High School in 1980 and attended the University of Oregon. He married Yvette Mehrer on September 18, 1993 at Timberline Lodge, Oregon. Bob enjoyed living in Florida, Hawaii, El Salvador and Trinidad. He is survived by his wife, Yvette (51), daughters, Olivia (20) and Ellen (17), five sisters, stepmother, two stepsisters and many other family members.

Family and friends will remember Bob for his loud voice, spirited personality and unmatched sense of humor. He valued youth and promoted education. Bob was known for his philanthropic nature.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any Bank of the Cascades branch in the account named “The Bob Chandler Memorial Fund.”

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 11, 6:30 p.m. at Sisters High School.
