Summit girls win at Tokatee Golf Club

MCKENZIE BRIDGE — Olivia Loberg carded a 5-over-par 77 to edge teammate Rachel Drgastin by two strokes for medalist honors and lead Summit to victory at the six-team McKenzie River Invitational on Tuesday at Tokatee Golf Club.

Including Drgastin’s 79, Sarah Heinly’s 83 and Josephine Fraser’s 87, the Storm had four of the low five scores in the tournament. Ridgeview’s Tianna Brown was third with an 82.

Summit’s team total of 326 was a comfortable distance in front of runner-up Bend High’s 389. Kaylie Hayes was low for the Lava Bears at 91.

Crook County was third with an even 400 strokes. Abby Papke’s 93 led the way for the Cowgirls.

Bend 15, Mountain View 5: Elliot Willy had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs to lead the Lava Bears to an Intermountain Conference win. Justin Parsons had three RBIs, Cameron Himes had two hits and two RBIs, and Marshall Davis had three hits for the Lava Bears (5-4 IMC, 12-7 overall). Colton Lovelace hit a two-run double for the Cougars (1-8, 4-14), Carson Corrigan had three hits, and Ron Stacey and Koltin Ramsay each had two hits.

Sweet Home 10, Sisters 9: SWEET HOME — Connor Lake singled and doubled and had two RBIs, but the Outlaws fell in Sky-Em League action. Jake Larson had two RBIs for Sisters (4-5 Sky-Em, 7-8 overall), and Ryan Cook, Will Werts and Jonathan Bertagna each had three hits.

La Pine 2, Glide 1: GLIDE — Wyatt DeForest’s bloop single in the top of the ninth inning scored the game-winning run to lift the Hawks to a Mountain Valley Conference win. William Iversen and Jake Farnsworth each had a hit for La Pine (4-2 MVC, 9-7 overall), while Angelo Roes and Farnsworth combined to limit the Wildcats to just three hits.

Softball

Mountain View 22, Bend 1: Ivy Vann had two home runs, including a grand slam, and finished with three hits and six RBIs to lead the Cougars to an Intermountain Conference win. Jensen Logan had six RBIs and a triple on 5-for-5 hitting for Mountain View (6-3 IMC, 8-11 overall), and freshman Madison Newman had a hit and an RBI in her first start. Jessie Weist drove in the lone run for the Lava Bears (2-7, 4-15).

Ridgeview 20, Redmond 6: REDMOND — Ridgeview broke open a close contest with an eight-run third inning, and the visiting Ravens rolled to a five-inning Intermountain Conference win. Taytum Stevens had a two-run homer and a double among three hits, and drove in four runs, and freshman Taylor Smith had four hits and three RBIs for Ridgeview (7-1 IMC, 13-5 overall). Kiki Fierstos hit a two-run homer for the Panthers (3-5, 5-12), Maddie Edwards had three hits and two RBIs and Shaenee Williams added two hits.

Glide 11, La Pine 4: GLIDE — Kiah Toepfer doubled and had two RBIs, but the Hawks dropped a Mountain Valley Conference contest. McKenzie Walsworth also had two RBIs for La Pine (0-5 MVC, 2-13 overall).

Union/Cove 15, Culver 1: JOHN DAY — Union/Cove scored five runs in the first inning and rolled from there against Culver, which was playing as the home team in a Class 2A/1A Special District 6 game at Grant Union High School. Freshman Lorena Vasquez had two hits to lead the Bulldogs (1-6 SD6, 6-10 overall).

Sweet Home 17-17, Sisters 0-0: SWEET HOME — The visiting Outlaws lost both ends of their Sky-Em League doubleheader. Sisters (2-7 Sky-Em, 2-10 overall) managed just three hits in the twin bill.

Girls lacrosse

Summit 16, Marist 3: Julia Stites scored five goals to lead Summit to a South League win. Laren Gallivan scored four goals and had an assist, and Fiona Dolan scored three goals for the Storm (7-2 overall).

Boys lacrosse

Thurston 9, Sisters 4: THURSTON — The Outlaws fell in nonconference play to drop to 2-7 overall.

Nadzitsaga 6, Ridgeview 4: BURNS — The Ravens slipped to 0-5 in the High Desert League and 3-10 overall.
