State parks camping, parking free June 4

Oregon State Parks will be open to the public for free June 4 in honor of State Parks Day, according to the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.

Camping is free the night of June 4 in both traditional and tent sites, and parking is free June 4 and 5 at the 26 state parks that charge a fee for parking during the day.

Parks across the state will be hosting special activities June 4. A complete list of events is available at www.oregonstateparks.org under “Things to Do.”

Reservations for campsites can be made by calling 800-452-5687 before 5 p.m., June 3. You can also reserve online at www.oregonstateparks.org.

All but 10 of the 52 state park campgrounds take reservations.
