Central Oregon saw some record-breaking temperatures in the early morning hours Friday.
Because of the holiday, Bend’s station hadn’t yet reported its official numbers Friday afternoon, but Redmond dipped to minus 4, breaking the record low of 4 degrees for that day set in 1976, according to Mike Murphy, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s Pendleton office.
Madras also broke its record low of zero degrees in 1936 by getting down to 5 below. Finally, Sunriver hit minus 8 degrees, smashing its record low of 7 degrees set in 2003.
