Dr. Dog show announced in Bend

This week, Random Presents announced a doozy of a show to heat up the coming Central Oregon winter. Pennsylvania indie-psychedelic rockers Dr. Dog will head to Midtown Ballroom on Feb. 3.

With strains of Beatlesque ’60s pop, a propensity for high-energy jams and a schizophrenic, two-headed songwriting sensibility courtesy of bassist Toby Leaman and lead guitarist Scott McMicken, Dr. Dog seems tailor-made for Bend’s music scene. The six-piece band is riding the success of its eighth studio album, 2013’s expansive “B-Room,” and this year’s live set, “Live at a Flamingo Hotel.”

Tickets cost $27 plus fees in advance or $30 at the door, and go on sale today at Ranch Records, 831 NW Wall St., or at www.bendticket.com.
