Bend, Redmond home prices rise in July

The rise in median home prices that started in spring in Bend and Redmond slowed in July, rising by less than 1 percent in each city, according to a report released Monday.
The median price for a single-family home in Bend rose 0.6 percent in July over the previous month; the median price in Redmond rose 0.4 percent, according to the report from the Beacon Appraisal Group of Redmond. The median price equals the midpoint, with half the prices above it and half below.

Home prices in both cities continued their year-over-year gains, increasing 4 percent in Bend and 14 percent in Redmond last month over July 2014, according to the report.
In Bend, the median price for a single-family home last month reached $331,000. In June, it was $329,000, and it was $317,000 in July 2014, according to The Beacon Report. Bend recorded 248 single-family home sales last month, 12 fewer than in June and 11 more than in July 2014.
Redmond’s median home price rose by $1,000 in July to $229,000. In July 2014, the median price for a single-family home in Redmond was $202,000, according to the report. Redmond recorded 87 home sales last month, five fewer than in June and seven sales more than in July 2014.
