October 28, 1957 – July 28, 2015

Bob, born to Howard and Harriet Schumacher, in Portland, Oregon, graced this earth on October 28, 1957, and sadly departed with his loving family by his side on July 28, 2015.

Bob attended Kellogg Grade School and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1975. Bob was awarded a baseball scholarship at Eastern Oregon State College.

Bob then turned his focus on homebuilding. With his artistry and his dads strong work ethic, his company, Schumacher Construction, Inc., became more than a home building company. “Yes there are premier builders… and then theres Bob Schumacher,” as quoted in the Central Oregon Tour of Homes brochure. His company each year won recognition for his building achievements.

Bob married the love of his life, Sandy, whom he married in 1986. They raised their three boys, Rhett, Jacob and Clinton in Sunriver and then in Bend. As a family, baseball was their center point, where the boys excelled at the sport like their father, and Bob was their coach. As a coach, Bob focused not only on the kids with talent but those that had potential; not only on the skills of baseball but also the skills of life.

Bob is survived by Sandy, his sons, brothers, Harry, Brian, Ron and sister, Kathy Murphy. He has countless nieces and nephews who all labeled him their favorite Uncle Bob.

A vigil service will be held on Friday, July 31 at 7:00 p.m. The service will be on Saturday, August 1, at 11:00 am. Both services will be held at the New Hope Church, 20080 Pinebrook Blvd in Bend.
