Whether your little cherub is watching cartoons or quietly reading a book, the floor somehow seems to always be the best place for those tasks.

Forcing children to endure a hard surface, or even a carpeted floor, could be a little harsh. A kid-friendly lounger is perfect for making them comfortable.

The 5-foot-long, three-panel lounger is stuffed with pillows, providing a comfy place for kids to lay down on the floor or prop up and use like a chair. It’s also ideal for sleepovers when there are more kids than beds.

The lounger folds up for easy storage when no one is using it.

You can make this roll-up lounger in different lengths, depending on the size of the child. The featured one is 60 inches long and uses three standard-size bed pillows for plumpness, but simply add another 20-inch section to the measurements given (including the yardage), and you’ll have a four-pillow version long enough for a teen or adult to lounge on.

The lounger can be adapted for patio or deck when made out of terry cloth or outdoor canvas. Instead of ribbon ties, hook-and-loop tape can also be used as a closure — it’s simply applied to each half of the hemmed opening sections. Installing a zipper would also work.
