Bend, Redmond home prices up year over year

The median home price rose about 1 percent in Bend last month over May’s median and dropped about 5 percent in Redmond, according to a report released today.
But home prices in both cities continued their year-over-year gains, increasing nearly 13 percent in Bend and 17 percent in Redmond last month over June 2014, according to the report from the Beacon Appraisal Group of Redmond. The median price equals the midpoint, with half the prices above it and half below.

In Bend, the median price for a single-family home last month reached $329,000. In May, it was $325,000, and it was $292,000 in June 2014, according to The Beacon Report. Bend recorded 260 single-family-home sales last month, 19 more than in May and 27 more than in June 2014.
Redmond’s median home price dropped to $228,000 last month, $14,000 below May’s price. In June 2014, the median price for a single-family home in Redmond was $195,000, according to the report. Redmond recorded 92 home sales last month, 18 more than in May and one sale more than in June 2014.
