Ann Scovel Farry

Ann Scovel Farry born July 13, 1933, in S.F., CA, passed away May 14, 2015, in Bend, OR.

Born in San Fransisco, she was the daughter of Dorothy Frary Frost and Paul Faler Scovel. She graduated from U C Berkeley in 1955 and was a member of Delta Gamma. The summer after graduation she married John (Jack) van Dyke Farry in San Mateo, CA. They spent most of their married life in and around Walnut Creek, and then retired to Bend, OR, in 1989.

She was affectionately known to her family and close friends as Grannie Annie. She purposefully enjoyed life and was known for her fun ways and smiling eyes. She was a loyal friend, a good listener and a true Christian who gave wise counsel. She volunteered many years for a Thrift store, was a PEO member and an active member of the Episcopal church. She enjoyed painting nature scenes from family camping trips, traveling extensively, gardening and making quilts for each family member. She and Jack were married until his passing November 10, 2011.

She is survived by a sister, Jean Scovel Barrett of San Jose, CA; three sons, Kurt (Allyson) of Pleasant Hill, CA, Dean (Jill) of San Ramon, CA, and Eric (Heidi) of Eugene, OR; and nine grandchildren, Landon, Chad, Rutger, Lance, Ulrich, Brock, Sarah, Avalon and Colin. The family wishes to thank the staff of Touchmark at Mt. Batchelor Village and Partners in Care for their gentle care.

Memorial services will be Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 11:00, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 469 Wall St., Bend, followed by a celebration of Ann’s life.
