Ardis Brunick Hammerquist, 93, of Bend, passed away April 5, 2015 in Bend, Oregon.

Funeral services will be held at Niswonger-Reynolds Chapel on April 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Private interment will be in Deschutes Memorial Gardens.

Ardis was born in Vermillion, SD to Alfred and Inga Brunick on May 24, 1922. She graduated from Meckling High School in 1939. She went on to earn a beautician certificate in Dwight, Illinois and following that she worked as a beautician in her Aunts beauty shop in Illinois, then as a telephone operator in Vermillion, SD before marrying Peter Hammerquist in 1943.

The two then moved West and settled in Eugene and Corvallis, Oregon where she raised five boys and helped her husband, Peter run Hammerquist Heating and Sheet Metal. She enjoyed traveling the United States in their RV, gardening, playing bridge and spending time with her family.

Ardis was preceded in death by her parents, AlFred and Inga Brunick; husband, Peter Hammerquist; brothers, Charles, Sid, Ervin and Arnold Brunick and grandson, Aaron Hammerquist.

Ardis is survived by her sister, Natalie (Robert) Johnson; sons, Steve (Vickie) Hammerquist; David (Linda) Hammerquist; Jim (Kristi) Hammerquist; Bill (Debbie) Hammerquist and Fred (Sydney) Hammerquist; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer, Matthew, Michael, Marisa, Dena, Paul, Peter, Nicole, Nolan, Jeffry and Natalie; and seven great- grandchildren, Treben, Chase, Caleb, Irelie, Holden, Hollyn and Lane.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Partners In Care Hospice services, 2075 NE Wyatt Court, Bend OR 97701. Condolences may be left in Ardis Facebook page.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Partners In Care Hospice nurses for their loving support and advice in her final days. Arrangements are under the care of Deschutes Memorial Chapel, Bend, OR.
