Robberson Ford President Jeff Robberson on Wednesday showed off the completed expansion and renovation of his Bend dealership at 2100 NE Third St.

“I think about this being our neighborhood, this location here,” Robberson said. “What works for revitalizing communities, for revitalizing Third Street, is business reinvesting in where they are and building a better place and keeping it vibrant.”

Demolition of the former dealership started in April 2014 and construction of the new facility concluded in December. The project produced a 15,064 square-foot building where a 6,174 square-foot structure had stood since 1972, Robberson said. The new building houses business offices, a break room, Robberson’s office, a meeting room and, on the first floor, a service desk and bay, showroom, waiting room and an enclosed area where new car owners receive a tutorial on their purchases.

Hung throughout the two-story building, 30 photographs of Central and Eastern Oregon landscapes by Bend photographer Loren Irving provide reminders of the dealership’s roots. The dealer also owns Robberson Ford of Prineville.

Kirby Nagelhout Construction Co. completed the $5 million job on a plan produced by BBT Architects, Robberson said. Because he incorporated a showroom floor plan provided by Ford Motor Co., the auto giant chipped in part of the cost, he said.
